Our Story

In Kaviri, jewelry is a form of expression, a catalyst, a tool to disrupt norms, as part of a genderless approach that prioritizes individual personality beyond any other factor. Within their workshop in the heart of Athens, Despoina and Nikos create the jewelry for each collection, narrating Athenian everyday life through their own creative perspective, endeavoring for each piece of Kaviri to be a connecting link in a story where everyone will give their personal meaning.
After all, Kaviri itself draws inspiration from the source of all stories, ancient Greek mythology, with its name bestowed by the sons of Hephaestus, the Kaviri, who as symbols of underground fire and metallurgical work, seek to incorporate tradition, power, and aesthetics into the brand's jewelry. With a strong connection to the local Athenian community and small family-owned goldsmith businesses, circularity and sustainability are fundamental principles of creation for the Kaviri duo from day one, with a large part of the brand's first collection recycling old metal dental crowns, giving metals a new life.

The People Behind Kaviri

Despoina and Nikos, the creators behind the jewelry brand Kaviri, first met in England through mutual friends. This meeting was not just a random encounter, but the beginning of a journey of exploration and inspiration with a common denominator of artistic nature, expressed through painting and photography. With Despoina's return to Greece, their paths crossed again to unite their forces in a new venture - the creation of the brand Kaviri as a means of expressing their artistic concerns. With each taking on their role in the brand - with Despoina in the creative part, drawing elements from her studies at the School of Jewelry at BCU and gemology with FGA certification (Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain) - and Nikos's extensive experience in commerce and public relations, Kaviri is a combined effort of two individuals to bring to light jewelry that aspires to be a blank canvas where everyone will paint their own story upon it.
