At Kaviri, jewelry is not just a decorative item but a means of expression and connection. Each collection is part of a genderless approach that focuses on the individual's personality, beyond stereotypes.
Handcrafted Sustainable Jewelry from Athens
The idea for Kaviri was born from Despoina’s personal passion for the art of handmade jewelry.
After years working in the field of Mechanical Engineering, she decided to radically change
direction and move to the UK, where she studied Jewelry Design and Silversmithing at BCU’s
School of Jewelry. At the same time, she specialized in gemology and earned her diploma,
becoming an FGA (Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain).
Her return to Athens marked the beginning of a creative journey. Through Kaviri, she seeks to
tell stories inspired by contemporary Athenian life, crafting jewelry from silver, gold, and
precious stones that bridge tradition and modernism. Each piece invites its wearer to give it their own personal meaning.
The Mythology Behind the Name
The name Kaviri draws inspiration from the ancient Greek mythology. The Kaveiroi, sons of
Hephaestus, were deities of fire and metallurgy. They symbolize the subterranean flame and the metallurgical arts. They are the ones who transform strength, tradition, and aesthetics into every creation of the brand. This philosophy shapes each Kaviri collection with its own material, symbolism, and narrative. They represent timelessness, strength, tenderness, or simplicity, always with respect for the individual. Discover all the collections here
Production Based on Sustainability and Circularity
All production takes place at the Kaviri workshop in the heart of Athens, in close collaboration with small, local family-owned jewelry businesses. Sustainability and circularity are core principles of the brand’s philosophy. A striking example is the first collection, which was partly crafted from recycled metal dental crowns, giving new life to materials with a story behind them.
Our Physical Store
In December 2024, Kaviri opened its physical store at 39 Asklipiou Street, in Kolonaki, Athens.
The space serves as an extension of the brand’s philosophy. A place where you can experience
the creations up close and connect with the people behind Kaviri.
Kaviri brings to light handcrafted, sustainable jewelry designed to be a blank canvas, inviting
each person to paint their own story upon it.
